A New Year

It has been more than a year since my last post. The Benson family kept very busy last year with activities vacations and life in general. Diamond is 14 and Brandon is 8. Both enjoyed their summer by taking a beach trip to Biloxi, MS, spending time at home with grandma Brown, playing base/soft ball and attending various camps. Ernest and I took a trip to Vegas that proved to be eventful as the plane lost generator power and we had to return back to the airport! We attended my family annual 4th of July picnic in Arkansas and had a great time as usual. The kids began the school year off with a blast with Diamond starting high school this year and Brandon entering the 3rd grade. Diamond exceled in the WSHS Spartan marching band while Brandon began his taekwondo mission. Later in the year Diamond made the knowledge bowl team, which is an awesome honor and began practicing for rugby. Yes Rugby! The holiday season arrived with everyone in good spirits and grandma in California visiting her son and sister. The season was filled with blessings, happiness and joy in honor of OUR SAVIOR! The new year began just as busy as the year before ended! Diamond participating in multiple activities and Brandon enjoying his chops and kicks. Diamond received an award from John Hopkins University and has had a poem published and Brandon got first place in his taekwondo competition! We are so proud of them both! Right here and now, I thank God for helping me to understand the ups and downs of life and making me a promise that He is in control!..... On this Valentine's Day, Love is my language!

Blessings of 2010

Now that we have begun a new year, it is time for reflection of a wonderful year passed. God is so wonderful, faith is essential and love is always necessary. The Benson Family has been truly blessed over the years and there was not an exception for 2010! Diamond and Brandon continues to exceed and excel academically. They are enjoying life. We are enjoying watching them enjoy life. Although there were a few stumbling blocks, we are a family that believes that God's word is our reminder that we are protected. As we begin a new decade our lives will continue to change, we must all know that God's word remains the same. It is this promise that keeps me and my family moving.

School year 2010

It has been an interesting and busy summer! The summer started with the kids playing softball and tball. Brandon attended summer camp and Diamond hung with granny Brown for the summer. This year in sports neither of the kids had great success with their team. Once the games were behind us we started to plan for a fun trip to St. Louis. We had a wonderful time visiting with friends and family. Now that school is back in full swing, Diamond is staying focus with band and Brandon is taking swim lessons. All is going well and I am still trying to catch my breath. We are praying for a successful year of school and thanking GOD for his many blessings!

Summer camp and grandma are keeping them busy. Memorial Day weekend was a blast because we got to spend plenty of time with family. The Benson's will celebrate 2 birthdays this month. Happy birthday Diamond & Grandma!! We are looking forward to a wonderful summer.

Love is in the air!. Once again it is Valentine's. This day is special for many reason. It is a day to show unconditional love to those who surround us with love and should be a day to show those who need love what it is all about. Happy Valentine's Day to all! The snow was beautiful while it lasted(about a day), but warm sunshine is better. The Benson's are looking ahead to spring and planning lots of activities.

Out with the Old! In with the New!

2009 was a year of change for the Benson clan! We got a new family member in our household, new job location for me, a new school for Brandon and everyone turned one year older! The New Year is a time for reflection, regrouping and resolutions. We continue to be blessed as a family! God is so good and wonderful! Each day I look forward to what He is going to do next in my life. I am truly understanding that His Promise is still good. The Holiday Season was Magical and memorable for the Benson's. We spent several days with Mickey and Minnie at Disney! The kids got the surprise of their young life! It was such a joy as parents to watch them accept this vacation as a gift for their good behavior and hard work. We are already making plans for our next vacation, this one was so much fun!. I would like to wish all my family and friends a blessed New Year, may God continue to hold each and every one of you close and may each and every one of you remember that he doesn't let go!

Living 4 the weekend!

Halloween is near, the ghost and goblins I fear, what a rainy day today. The kids are all hyped over the approaching holiday season. I must say that the grown up Benson's are too. This will be the first holiday season with Granny Brown living with us. She is in for a treat. Diamond had her first orchestra recital tonite and her dad said that she did great. Unfortunately, I had to work. My sister and her girls are coming this weekend and we will be so happy to seem all. Until later, be safe and have fun. Trick or Treat!!!

Loving Autumn

Ghost and Goblins are all around, can you hear the spooky sound. The Benson's are preparing for halloween. I know, for those of you who fail to celebrate the calendar name, it is now more popular to say Harvest Fest or Hallelujah Fest. Whatever the name is, I still see it as a time for family, friends, peace and love. Evil is only known to children if things are projected this way! As the holiday season near, all we can do as a family is enjoy the season and create new memories. God knows, there is so much to be thankful for! Brandon and Diamond are doing well in school and looking forward to the Thanksgiving break, now that Fall break has passed. Brandon piano lessons are going well and Diamond has been selected to become a Duke University TIP student. We are so proud of both of them. Being a mother is busy, but it is definitely worth every minute and second to know that you are loved unconditionally. Fall is a wonderful time of year with football (Go Team), yard sales, great weather and hot chocolate!. Sometimes enjoying the little things help us all to prepare for the bigger things that are coming. God Bless, Peace, Love & Serenity until the next time.

Catching UP!!!!

It has been a while. Life has been so busy! The summer is on it's way out and my favorite season is on it's way in. The Benson kids had fun filled summer full of activities. Summer camp was a blast and both of them hated for the camp to be over. Swimming, skating, bowling, and going to the movies were all part of the busy days at the camp. The kids have been back in school for more than a month and are busy in school activities. Diamond plays the clarinet and Brandon is in piano lessons. Both of our little musicians are happy with their progress. In the meantime, Granny Brown has joined the Benson family full time. What a true blessing! We are happy to have her. Both kids had wonderful birthday celebrations in June and September. They are now looking forward to the holidays. Family & Fun what a great combination! My birthday celebration is next!

Easter is near. Thank you God for your sacrifice because we(everybody) have always needed it, but it appears that we need it now more than ever! The Benson kids are ready to spend time with our extended family and we look forward to a fun filled weekend eating, hunting eggs, and just having a good time. Brandon is still practicing teeball and eagerly awaiting his first game. We are really excited. Diamond is looking forward to her sixth grade field trip and tcap. The grown-up Benson's are busy working in the yard and making space for a nice yard for relaxation this summer. We have lots of events planned and is looking forward to spending quality family together. We would like to wish everyone a Happy Easter and a wonderful weekend! God promise is still good, so don't get caught up in the recession hype!!!!!

Last weekend we got to spend time with family members @ a Grizz game. We had a great time although the home team lost, but what else is new. Brandon spent last week getting ready for his first season of tee ball and Diamond is into her Star Trek book series. Two kids same parents as different as night and day. We are counting down the days before TCAP and summer break. The adult Benson's are enjoying life and spring cleaning.

Now that St. Patrick's day is behind us, and I did not even realize it until today that it has come and gone, let's move on. Brandon had his first teeball practice the other day and did so good. He is a much better hitter than a fielder. He can throw really good. I think he would much rather be fishing! Both kids are enjoying spring break and not looking forward to going back to school.

Friday, March 13, 2009

The up and down weather has caused illness to spread through the Benson household, but we are still here! The Benson kids are looking forward to spring break next week and a fun day at one of the popular pizza places in town. They are already counting down the weeks left before summer break.

Monday, March 9, 2009

It's that time of year again, less sleep more work. Spring is in the air and it's time for baseball/softball season. The Benson kids are excited. It is Brandon's first year playing organized sports. Diamond is somewhat a veteran. KUDO's to Diamond on continuing to excel academically, she received a couple of nomination last week for her hard work and dedication. May the force be with her!!!!!! Just one more step in fulfilling her NASA dream. Please keep her in your prayers as well as my entire family. Have a nice day!!!!

Superbowl weekend is within reach, Go _________, as you can see I don't have a favorite. For those of you who are a little slow the blank means that I don't care who wins, I just want to eat the snacks. The Benson kids are enjoying the weekend relaxing with Mr. Benson. Have a Super Sunday!!!!!!!!!!

Thursday, January 29, 2009

Today the Benson kids are headed back to school after getting a snow day. Mom and Dad are hard at work, as usual. We are looking forward to the weekend!
